Why the compliance architecture most institutions run today cannot meet AMLR, and what the 10 months before July 2027 are for.
AMLR applies from 10 July 2027. It is directly applicable, it supersedes the GwG, and it brings four operational shifts: harmonised customer due diligence, every decision documented in the moment it is taken, instant traceability, and supervision by AMLA.
Most compliance architectures were never designed for any of that.
