Can Your Compliance Survive July 2027?

Risk & Compliance
Why the compliance architecture most institutions run today cannot meet AMLR, and what the 10 months before July 2027 are for.

AMLR applies from 10 July 2027. It is directly applicable, it supersedes the GwG, and it brings four operational shifts: harmonised customer due diligence, every decision documented in the moment it is taken, instant traceability, and supervision by AMLA.
Most compliance architectures were never designed for any of that.
They accumulated, one system and one audit finding at a time, and the answer to each new requirement was more people. That model has reached its ceiling.
Thomas Van Maele, co-founder and CEO of Harmoney, sets out the five structural bottlenecks that make the current model unsustainable, what AMLR requires in their place, and what the institutions that have already rebuilt did differently. Ten months, one fixed deadline, no extensions.
