Bob is currently the Chief Risk Officer at Zai and has over a decade of experience in financial services law at payment tech firms, and in the operations and risk functions of global and large banks in Australia. He has broad regulatory expertise in banking and payments gained from working at key regulators such as ASIC and in Retail Risk at Macquarie Bank.
He previously served at Nium as the Head of Compliance for Australia and MLRO. He leads the Financial Crime team responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance and the overall AML/CTF program. Bob is a strong advocate for using automation and technology to iterate and innovate in the AML space. Bob also worked at New Payments Platform, Australia and Westpac in second line compliance, overseeing merchants and payments.
Bob mentors young lawyers and hopes to see more legal professionals consider Financial Crime and Fraud Risk pathways. He is keen to support and partner with his business in proactively managing their compliance risk in an evolving regulatory environment.
