Emily joined the Morgan Stanley Legal and Compliance Team in November 2024 as their EMEA Sanctions Compliance Officer. Prior to this, Emily worked at Standard Chartered Bank for eight years as a Director, Group Sanctions Specialist and has held various sanctions roles at other institutions, including global banks under a US Deferred Prosecution Agreement. With over ten years’ experience in financial crime within the financial services sector, working for top tier international banks, Emily’s particular focus area is interpreting multi-jurisdictional regulations and legislation to formulate sanctions policies, and providing advice with subject matter expertise. Emily acted as the Deputy Chair of the UK Finance Sanctions Panel for 2024, helping to shape the monthly agenda on behalf of over 300 financial institutions to drive change and lead on discussions with U.K. government. Emily is passionate about women’s rights in both her home and work life and is currently appointed as a U.N. Women UK delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68 and 69).
