Katy Worobec is a payments fraud expert and independent consultant with over 30 years’ experience working at the centre of the banking and finance industry, most recently as. Managing Director, Economic Crime at UK Finance and prior to that as Director of Financial Fraud Action UK. She is an Associate Partner of the Fintech and Payments Advisory Network.

Experience includes establishing the industry Information & Intelligence Unit (encompassing a Fraud Intelligence Sharing System, the Industry Threat Management process and a coordinated industry response to significant data loss/breaches), the Dedicated Card and Payment Crime Unit (DCPCU - an industry sponsored police unit) and the Take Five education and awareness campaign.

Since leaving UK Finance Katy has worked with some of the leading economic crime organisations, including Stop Scams UK and ACAMS, undertaking writing and research.

Katy is Co-founder and Deputy Chair of the Fraud Women’s Network and winner of the Tackling Economic Crime Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.
