Having a clear legal strategy based on use of the technology, Matt has recovered millions of pounds worth of digital assets for clients.
Matt is the chair of techUK’s Digital Asset Working Group, which represents members involved with blockchain technology. He is also a non-executive director, leading legal strategy at M2 Recovery, a post-incident legal expenses insurance offering for recovery of crypto assets and their proceeds.
He is the author of various academic papers, including May 2025: Oxford University Press: Crypto-asset recovery: a short-form practical guide, as well as October 2025: BBC’s File on 4, and in Thomson Reuter and in The Times.
