Patrick is the Chief Risk Officer at Bank Australia, an Australian customer owned bank with around $12B in assets. Patrick’s career began in New Zealand as a graduate inductee at BP before joining a systems processing bureau and software developer working in financial services. From there he joined ANZ in New Zealand before moving to Australia and over the course of 20 years working in audit, IT, project management, acquisitions, payments, strategy, risk management and operations. Patrick has completed assignments in numerous countries and particularly across Asia. In 2012 he joined SuperPartners as Head of Risk & Compliance and in 2014 commenced as CRO at bankmecu, who in 2015 became Bank Australia. As CRO at Bank Australia, Patrick is responsible for all parts of risk management including operational, credit, market, compliance, legal and financial crime. He is also the responsible executive for internal audit coordination, privacy, AML and customer disputes.
