Rob Phillips is a Senior Investigations Manager within Barclays’ Chief Security Office, where he leads teams responsible for the end-to-end management of complex investigations involving insider threat, fraud, financial crime and misconduct across the bank.

Prior to joining Barclays in 2023, Rob served as a Detective Sergeant within the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU), working in the Sensitive Intelligence Unit. Across a policing career spanning 15 years, he led investigations into Serious and Organised Crime, developed intelligence-led operations, and worked within covert policing environments tackling some of the most significant criminal threats facing UK communities.

In his current role, Rob works closely with law enforcement agencies, industry partners and internal stakeholders to identify, investigate and disrupt criminal activity affecting the financial sector. A strong advocate of cross-industry collaboration, he is passionate about strengthening partnerships between banks and law enforcement to improve the collective response to fraud, scams and wider financial crime.

Rob brings a unique perspective from both policing and banking, combining operational investigative experience with an understanding of the evolving fraud and scam landscape.
